They didn't hate us before Israel's expansion

"I might also mention that the Arab states are not too crazy about France, which has opposed Israel consistently since 1967."

You seem to be ignorant of France's role as a colonial ruler of some of these states.

But then you also don't know about the Suez Crisis, where British and French involvement with Israel brought down both of those governments. It appears that Bush Jr has his own little Suez Crisis going on -

"The USA is proof that tyranny is a failure."

True. It also has proved the value of a free press and freedom of speech, but currently the media is bought, and the language is degraded...

"The authoritarian Arab states (which is only 100% of them) would hate the USA regardless of Israel."

Willfull ignorance and denial of the existence of the Cairo Conference held in response to the Rabin initiative.

"The governments of these states redirect the wrath of their peoples against the USA (and Israel) in order to divert it from its just target: the Arab governments."

The main reason why these leaders are so disliked is that they refuse to undertake suicidal attacks on Israel.

If these countries were democratic
1) our oil would already be cut off
2) they would currently be undertaking OPEN development of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons for use against Israel
