Perseids not always from Perseus

Hi Raoul -

Thinking out loud here. Given that the comet orbit is independent of the star field, precession should mean that at earlier times the "Perseids" did not appear to be coming from Perseus. The same should hold for every other comet debris stream.

Any idea when the name "perseids" was adopted?
