As if killing a million or so people in wars, and at least around 1,000 of your own people per month, was not enough of a demonstration of just plain evil -

After his defeat in Kuwait, Saddam lied, and continued to work on weapons of mass destruction.
Remember the Kamel brothers?

Saddam tried to assassinate Bush Snr.

Saddam did his best to frustrate and harass the UN inspectors, to the point at which they were forced to abandon their work.

Finally, by all current testimony, Saddam had every intention of returning to the development of weapons of mass destruction as soon as he possibly could, had not the US removed him from power.

That said, we can agree that Bush Jr made a huge mistake not getting UN approval for this operation before hand, which decision led in large part to these deaths and grievous woundings.

I think it will become evident that the same goes for Bush Jr's policy in regards to tolerating Sharon's schemes early in his presidency.
