"Beginning of the end", and "victory".

T. B. "Remember the Great Uprising of April? Supposed to be the beginning of the end of our efforts in Iraq?"

My impression of the effects of the resistance is that Bush has scaled back his ownership ideas, and is coming to the "cut and run" strategy. What was once 14 permanent military bases is now 4, and we'll have to see about those.

At one point not long ago the American Ambassador was going to have veto power over any decision of the Iraqi "sovereign" transition government. That may have been scaled back, also, and certainly as a result of the resistance.

From here it looks a bit like the beginning of the end.

T. B. "Setbacks for our military are big news. Apparently victories are not."

What do you expect from the mightiest military the world has ever seen against a two-bit religious militia? And the mission wasn't accomplished.

Remember when they were going to arrest the guy and put him on trial for murder (a real public relations coup, by the way. For them!!) That was the start. Don't seem to be interested in that any more, do they?

It seems like the University of California football team playing to a tie with the Our Lady of Perpetual Revenge Girls team. Wouldn't be a victory.
