I was thinking about Marx, drugs, God etc the other day. Marx said that religion was the opiate of the people. It made a shitty existence bearable. What if your religion made life worse? It is my understanding that porn, getting laid, music, fun, alcohol were all missing in the Afghani experience under the Taliban. Religion and law were one and the same.

Not like here in America. Religion is placed in the back seat.
