re: Speak for yourself...and your buddies if you want but...

Look, you can poll til the cows come home. I don't base my opinions on polls no matter how skewed the results might be towards my own beliefs. I happen to not be someone you can fit into neat little labels such as conservative or liberal so I have a wide variety of friends and acquaintences from all political persuasions and all I'm doing is relating what I'm seeing in those people. The Bush bashing isn't only coming from the people I know with left or liberal leanings. It's coming from guys that a few years ago were telling me that Rush Limbaugh was the second coming of Christ. Our current president just flat out scares people with his black and white view of humanity and his lack of knowledge of the cultures around the world. He also doesn't do a very good job of hiding his religious agendas, something that raises the hair on people that truly believe in the separation of church and state.

At this time, were I an odds maker in Vegas, I'm not sure I'd put money on either candidate and anyone telling you they know the outcome is blowing a lot of hot air but I have to tell you that for the first time in a few years I'm seeing a great deal of optimism from the anti-Bush crowd that he can actually be unthroned. For a president have the political fortune to be in office during an unprecedented attack on the United States and on the natural upswing of national economic cycle, it is absolutely unprecedented that the man is in a virtual dead heat now. Call it as you wish but the man has blown his advantage exactly as Al Gore blew his following the immense popularity of Clinton's administration.
