Lunar return heatshields aren't reusable but it isn't an issue

Lunar return entry velocity is typically in the ball park of 11 km/sec. A heat shield is reusable only if it is non-ablating (that's what the Shuttle uses). Significant ablation will occur for 11 km/sec entry (remember that energy scales as velocity squared). You can get the vehicle costs down by making the heat shield "bolt on / disposable" and reuse the pressure vessel, avionics, etc. There was talk about doing this with the Apollo CM before the Apollo program got canned.

Sky hooks are loaded with technical "gotchas". They're a bit like Bussard ramscoops, laser driven light sails and other cute but impractical science fiction concepts. A "biggie" is the initial cost of getting the sky hook on orbit. You're going to need a conventional launch system to get the sky hook up there (it's a chicken and egg thing). The sky hook is going to weigh a zillion tons. A zillion times $10,000/kg represents a heap of Pesos. Don't hold your breath waiting for a sky hook to happen.
