Would you feel as secure if they had AK-47s slung over their shoulders?
Tom, although there is a slight level of discomfort when I'm next to someone in public with a gun on their hip (including some scary looking cops), I've really never objected to single shot guns like revolvers. Generally an aware crowd could subdue someone that wacked out with one of those before a lot of people got shot. Now I would get really nervous if I saw someone carrying an Uzi or assault rifle around. Even the most moronic, bad shooting idiot can create a great deal of bloodshed with one of those WMD's.
Arizona has always allowed people to walk around in public with guns on their hips although you rarely see them. More a curiosity than a worry when you see one.
