Then why the hell was he shopping for it?

For God's sake, THINK!

- It is an established fact that Saddam sent representatives down to Niger to try and set up some kind of deal.

- It is an established fact that Niger has absolutely nothing Iraq could possibly want besides uranium.

- The intelligence that Saddam was shopping for uranium is supported by the Butler report.

- If someone is going around town shopping for ammunition for a bazooka, it doesn't take a lot of brains to come to the conclusion that this person probably has some idea of how he's going to acquire a bazooka.

Maybe Saddam was just nuts. Maybe he hoped his enemies would see his administration performing this useless act, and falsely believe he had nuclear ambitions. Or maybe he had something in mind to build nuclear weapons under the nose of the U.N., which wouldn't be a first by a long shot.

Maybe he just needed it to make yellow pottery.

Sherlock Holmes would be tearing his hair out. Has the ability to construct a line of reasoning been burned out of our citizenry?
