First, I'm not endorsing Tom's proposal, it gives me the creeps.
Also I'm not saying a person should give up their real name or any real world information about themselves to the community. All I'm saying is that zoners should choose a handle and give notice when they change it. A member-log-in system would be the only way to enforce a system, which is one that I would also not endorse. Voluntary courtesy is all that I ask. I might complain when the courtesy is not extended, but I don't propose enforcing it on anyone.
