many believe that a sales tax is regressive. But if you really think about it, a national sales tax penalizes those with the extravagant lifestyles (the evil rich!) the most.

And as always, there can still be exemptions for essential politician favorites like food, water, gas & electric, college, books, and beer.

The funny thing is, people spend almost all the money they earn. So the tax really does hit those who earn more the hardest.

Of course the biggest tax benefit would go to those who don't spend their earnings (The evil capitalist pigs that some might call "savers").

The problem would be that our Federal government is so bloated that the tax would need to be ridiculously high to maintain the current level of government "service".
