Kerry's war record, however it pans out in the next few weeks, has absolutely jumping jack shit to do with his current qualifications for President. He showed up. So did a lot of other people. That's not all it takes to make a good president. Get it yet? There are a lot of veterans who are honorable men. There are also veterans in jail for murder. There has to be more on his resume than something that happened thirty years ago.

I understand that being an appendage of Ted Kennedy for years is no way for any politician to advance himself, but hey, guess what: Kerry was a Senator. Can we take a look at that sometime?

Up until Kerry, the Democrats--many of the same ones holding Kerry's record against Bush's-- insisted that the honorable war records of Bush's father and Bob Dole meant nothing at all against Clinton's draft evasion, and that only the foulest of campaigners would even bring it up. Who the hell do they think they're kidding? Do they think the hypocrisy isn't blatant enough?

The real issue right now is that the Democratic candidate is folding up like a house of cards, trying desperately to become a clone of Bush who is at the same time nothing like Bush. It ain't working very well.
