As the campaign moves on, it is becoming increasingly clear that Kerry is a complete gasbag. There does not seem to be one position he has held consistently for more than a week.

This remarkable announcement was treated by his fans, who until now have declared the lack of WMD in Iraq to be the most important issue in existence, with complete indifference. On this board too, with the notable exception of Bowser, who expresses his disappointment as only Bowser could.

When Kerry said he believed life begins at conception? The same complete lack of response from Democrats, most of whom firmly believe Washington crossed the Delaware in winter so that women would have the freedom to flush fetuses down sinks.

There are two explanations for this odd behavior.

First, and most likely, Democrats are fully aware that Kerry can and will say anything at all to get elected, and are willing to overlook it to get him into power so he can do what he really wants. In short, why worry? He's lying.

Second, Democrats have gotten so obsessed with getting Bush out of office that they long ago stopped paying attention to their own candidate. I wonder how many even know who he is.
