Space/Science » in reply to The oil crunch will affect motor vehicles, not necessarily electricity

Jackpot !!! Renewable energy just might be possible!

I've revised my Sun Power idea. I'm now using three Fresnel lenses to relay solar energy directly from the Sun's corona to a platform on Earth's surface in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I think I've hit the "Magic" numbers! The space-based optical platforms are 6705-times smaller than equivalent photovoltaic platform. Also, the ocean-based platform generates nearly 95 percent of North America's electrical needs. It also generates excess heat that is 7 percent larger than North America's total energy-equivalent oil consumption. A co-generation plant can use that excess heat to process materials into fuels for transportation. Existing oil tankers could deliver fuels directly to the west coast, or anywhere in the world.
