There's no valid direct connection between capital investment and number of jobs, either. If I dump fifty million bucks into a factory in Detroit to buy automated widget stampers, how many new jobs would that create?

Frankly, I'm getting tired. Spent twenty minutes trying to find statistics I wouldn't have to pay for.

Have it your way. If Uncle Sam had gotten that money, surely there would be jobs and prosperity for all.
