There is a war in Iraq, because Iraq invaded Kuwait. If Iraq had not invaded Kuwait, it would be not in war today.
It's in US interest that the Euro is the international currency. We gain nothing by having the US dollar as the international currency- it amounts to a tax, and if you Europeans want that tax, you can have it (assuming that the market accepts it).
