For a start - ignore the Troll parts, was making a joke which obviously fell flat.
Never mind.
Exhibit A:
You think the Belmont link is of some worth, despite lines like the example I trotted out.
Exhibit B:
Post after linking to Wretchard : "Although generalizing to the Left as a whole is overkill"....
Exhibit C:
Reply to my second: "I said "radical Left" and I mean that exactly."
followed by "The Left, and the radical Left specifically, is founded on a permutation of the collectivist ideal that has destroyed ........" and "Until that philosophy can be "outgrown," or even admitted to by less radical liberals"
So you generalize. Hey that's your right, but I'll call BS on you too, especially if you keep on claiming to only be targeting the radical fringe.
Exhibit D: "Or are you going to keep trying to sell me the idea that the radical Left has no connection to collectivist philosophies, specifically Marxism?"
I never said anything close to that.
The leftist fringe believes in Marxism. The Left as a whole does not.
Hell in the last 20-30 years, the left HAS outgrown that philosophy (if the majority ever held it anyway, open to debate). Is there a remnant of collectivism - yes, but several levels of magnitude less than it once was.
The left is not calling for state control of industry, standard wages for everyone.
The left is not calling for the overthrow of the bourgoisie.
You want to call any form of government regulation "collectivism" go right ahead. I think ol Karl himself would be appalled.
You want to call a national health system collectivism - well, maybe you might have a point, if and ONLY if, that system was forced upon you without any other option. I dont see the left calling for that either.
Trouble is, I think your ideas about the left got set in the 60s and stayed there.

Stand still and I'll try to make it one last time.
