"Lets see what a Kerry supporter has to say. I really want to know what his plans are for Iraq and the War on Terror. Does anyone really know? Does Kerry even know? "
The real question is what will other world leaders do?
Countries such as N Korea and Iran might make some pleasing sounds which can allow an opportunity for Kerry to make an ass of himself. With this kind of encourage who knows what Kerry will give away in order to get more pleasing sounds.
Canada might want to do something- and this might even be significant [because they are actually an important country to the USA as far as trade goes] but I have no idea what this actually would be. Probably a potentially more significant country would be Mexico, but I doubt Kerry is smart enough to try to get anything going here. Now, Vietnam might be a country which Kerry would have some political interest in doing something- and he's got "friends" there:).
Most new leaders are smart enough to listen to what the current policy direction is- if he fired the whole existing team he will just create confusion- so with Iraq it's doubtful Kerry will do anything in the short term in regards to Iraq. If doubtful he would even do anything different just for sake of looking like he is doing anything different. Of course, lots people who have better things to do, will need encouragement in order to not to decide to leave.
So with Iraq they will probably have held their general elections before Kerry could take office. Probably a bigger wild card is what this new Iraqi government will decide to do. It's doubtful that Kerry would want to "lose" Iraq- and for political cover he probably won't want to do anything different than what he thinks Bush [or conservatives] would have done.
I think what Kerry will mostly do is travel a lot- France won't be that friendly to him, but he might get somewhere with Germany. And he can become familar with other countries. I don't think foreign leaders will find Kerry to be very appealing, but they certainly have a interest in America relations.
Kerry if elected has no mandate- he is running against Bush not for anything. Even if he had a mandate he would be weak- why would Congress help him instead of thwart him? This is why Mrs Clinton didn't want to run- even with a Mandate her presidency would be a waste of time.
Unless you are under the delusion that the Antiwar crowd has any political significance, there is no reason to suspect that Kerry will get anywhere close to winning this election.
The main question is what will not be done if Kerry is elected- if you don't want the govt to do anything, you want it stalled. Vote for Kerry.
NASA will go nowhere. Aids in Africa will not be stopped. Global terrorism will regroup- maybe they won't focus on America. Maybe they will focus on weaker areas- for instance Europe. Or maybe the Middle east- Saudi Arabian and maybe Jordian, Turkey, or Egypt, or all.
