Anybody know what the explosive was?

I've wondered for a long time about the reliability of parachutes packed for years, especially in a space environment. Way too soon to know what caused the chute to fail.

I heard on the NASA press conference that the drogue explosives didn't deploy. Packing of chutes were apparently never a factor.

I'd be interesting to see if the explosive could be affected chemicaly by exposure to the solar wind that could reach it. That's assuming there's enough flux, a notion of which I'm sceptical. Energetic solar particles are mostly hydrogen. What happens when you reduce an explosive? No boom?
