Anyone that believes that there is a danger is ignorant on biology and space conditions. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to take on the tired inane theory by Hoyle that flu epedimics come froms space. THAT IS STUPID! An alien virus would not be able to infect a earth organism... Viruses evolve with their hosts in a constant battle- they hijack our unique genetic code and use it to reproduce. An alien virus wouldnt know what to do with our genetic code.
Think about it- virus transmission between humans is common... between humans and chimps it can happen, between humans and pigs, it happens a lot... between humans and avians, much more rare but can happen... between humans and fish, maybe it happens but its so rare I havent heard of it... between humans and sea cucumbers doubt it happens... between humans and ameoba no...
We are far less alien to an ameoba than the 'space virus' would be to us....
As for pathogenic bacteria from space it would not survive the radiation long enough to get to our neighborhood.
