That Kerry has contradicted himself. The truth on Kerry's service is certainly not clear here. The only clear truth is that Kerry was an idiot to portray his at best mediocre record in Vietnam as heroic when his anti-military antics afterward are well documented. Kerry raised this issue as a claim to justify making him CIC. Bush made no such claim for his guard duty. His claim is based on his record as CIC, and that is precisley the record that should matter not what he did or did not do in the NG. This is especially true when avoiding service with far less personal risk was no issue for the Dims when Clinton was their candidate.
Kerry should run on his Senate record and how he would have handled Iraq differently (ie by giving France and the UN control over US security) not what he did in Vietnam. A campaign for president should be about what you will do as president and have done in government (especially in higher office) not what you did of little relevance to the current situation.
