I had two of my Grandsons (9&5) with us as well and my "be brave" speech was wasted. I had sat them all down and told them that things might get really scary and that we would all be together and everything would be okay. I swore them in as soldiers and I was the Captain.

The storm never got scary and could hardly be heard inside the house. Being familiar with the loud thunderstorms we have down here, the first words out of their mouth when they woke up was about what a wimpy storm it was.

The soldier angle worked well in the aftermath when I put them to work cleaning debris. :) As usual, Shane worked like a little man while his nephews grumbled so I promoted him to Corporal.
