Just like Don or Bowser. As a result you take Kerry's impending defeat personally. Kerry isn't worth investing your emotional well being. As a matter of fact Kerry's not a good investment period. He squandered his own salary till he was just worth 150k prior to his marrying of Theresa Heinz--who, by the way added the surname Kerry only after John was running for President. His own wife admits to having a things for 18 year olds and clearly has no respect for him. Kerry is just another toy with a bit of political power for her to play with.
She's a sugar mama and Kerry's has an inferiority complex due to needing a woman to support him. Being elected President would give him the psychological boost he needs to offset this gnawing and gaping wound in his psychological well being. That's not someone one wants to be President. Just like Gore whos psychosis came to the fore after his defeat, we will be able to watch the same frustrations emerge when Kerry has to return to Theresa a failure. She will be even more powerful in their relationship and he will cheat on her more than ever with interns and young girls in Switzerland to compensate for these threats to his manhood.
It's a sad tale. The only thing sadder is that percentage of the electorate who see this man as Presidential material.
