A public figure like Dan Rather using both his position of authority and documents claimed to be factual to influence the American people should be fired immediately.

Oh, wait! By that rationale preznit Bush, Cheney and Powell should be fired also. Wow!

If we can't have it both ways, 'bye-bye Dan.
