re: A question

If you're referring to Unions I do know that most police unions support the ban but look who you're asking, law enforcement. Of course they're going to support it. Union leaders are very political and I don't think it would look too good if a police union leader or the head of any police organization opposed the ban.

I remember back when gun-ban law was passed, my cousin (a city police officer here in SA) and I talked about it. I had asked him how many crimes (that he knew of) where committed when someone used a 'assault weapon.' He said maybe two or three that he could think of , but he did say that in the past he had busted gang-bangers that had Mini-14's and AK-47's in their possession. I had also read that at the time the ban was enacted, assault type weapons were used in less than 1% of the crimes committed.

Personally I really don't care that the weapons in question were banned I just think it's silly. I don't have any of them and don't ever plan to purchase one. The guns I have aren't anywhere near what they're banning. But, one of my pistol's that I bought pre-ban has a 14 rd mag and anything over 10 rds is included in the ban, but that's no big deal to me.
