Gifted students are neglected.

Our State has a gifted student program in which my HS senior daughter has participated since the second grade.

I have two grandsons that would easily qualify for the program but there is much stalling in the system to hold back gifted status because the test scores of gifted kids lift the overall average of the regular students.

I detest anything that plays to the average.
