coupla more points
from The Australian, September 7:
When asked who they would trust more to tell the truth, 40 per cent of voters said Mr Latham and 29 per cent said Mr Howard, yet 23 per cent said "neither" could be trusted.
.. Now that WAS about Iraq (WMDs etc), among other domestic matters like the status of refugees. By the way, the same newspoll showed that a majority has more FAITH in Howard to correctly lead the country, even though they acknowledge that he has lied to them about Iraq and refugees.
Go figure that: this is a very pragmatic, maybe cynical country.
RIDER:And by the way: none of this means that I am against the war in Iraq. I am still undecided but hope it will work out well, and support the safety of US and coalition troops! These posts are all about clarity for the benefit of you and others at HZ - and a little reminder not to presume to know everything about the affairs of Oz!
