Who are these people? How do you know they want this very badly (sic) to fail?
I assume that you, as are most people, are interested in a free and democratic election which results in a representative government. Is that correct?
And I'm assuming you aren't interested in a rigged election which results in a government which needs protection from US Special Forces because it is not representative, but rightly regarded as an American puppet. Is that correct?
Would it be better to have a phony "election" than no "election" at all?
