What for do you think would work for a formerly secular Muslim state? A democratic state with a democratic vote would lead to a theocracy and a possible civil war.
Iraq needs a Courtney Whitney to give them a form to work with as he did with Japan. Without a structure to build on, all this talk of a "democratic election" is smoke.
