We went to war based on a policy began in the late 1990's, and for the right reasons. You might not give a flip about Americans getting squashed like bugs as buildings implode, and you might be happy that Saddam kept things nice and quiet as he financed and promoted terror, rebuilt his WMDs and waited around for the UN to finish imploding on sanctions, but most Americans do give a flip about it.
We stopped the right guy for the right reason, and we stopped him before he could get us or our friends, which every report shows was Saddam's goal.
My kids are the right age to be in this war, and I want it over much worse than you. But I want it over on our terms, not some loser-fuck like Kerry's terms, where we just quit and wring our hands about the angst of it all.
You know lasers and astronomy, but you don't shit-else if you think people like me are just rednecks who like fighting. America did not start this war, but we have an obligation to win it. The only way to deal with this war is to fight it and win it on our terms. The Euro allies who bailed on us in this war are the same idiots who refused to deal with Hitler and Mussolini in the 1930's, and even after 1939 refused to fully fight Hitler along the Rhine.
The last thing we need if we are to prevail in this war is a blowhard who couldn't even support Gulf War I, and votes all sides of every issue.
We aren't the ones blowing up busloads of kids, kidnapping and decapitating, planting ambush bombs, and seeking to destroy the infrastructurein Iraq.
Too bad you choose not to tell the differece.
