You'd be a great addition to Arizona Lindy. We could use some more open minds.
After yesterday's election results here, (everyone I voted for and nearly every proposition I took a stand on was hugely defeated) I'm finding myself looking around at my fellow Arizonans today with this sense of huge frustration. I wasn't looking for the state to become a radical liberal enclave, just to move a bit more towards the middle and common sense. You wouldn't believe how effective the hate-filled, neo-con campaigns were at convincing the voters here in this state that many caring and articulate challengers to the status quo were the devil incarnate.
Get this. In our state legislature, I don't believe a single incumbent (most very conservative Republicans) was defeated and yet the electorate saw fit to not raise the salary of the legislature from the poverty level of $24,000 to $36,000 per year. In other words we loved the job they were doing but they haven't been earning their money. No wonder reality TV is so popular these days.
