One of the main reasons I wanted to see space opened up in a big way was so that at least some of humanity had a place to go when the Earth got too crowded, politically or literally.
When social and political rot settled into Europe and other places, people came to America. When the east got too crowded, people moved west. In each case, somehow it seemed to be the most innovative and industrious people at the wavefront.
I live in California. I can't go any further west. I'm still hoping that space colonization will work out, but probably not in my lifetime. I hope what I'm doing will get it started.
Going someplace where building a new industry would make me a social target to be carved up for my fellow man, instead of someone to be admired, is not a solution for someone like me.
Go to Canada, or wherever. You would be a definite asset whereever you went. I'm not condemning you, or even judging you. But like I suggested elsewhere, you might want to try just moving out of Matherville.
