Currently 132,017,000 payroll jobs.
Number of payroll jobs when Bush took office in January 2001: 132,388,000. 371,000 jobs more than now.
Previous all-time employment high, March 2001, 132,507,000. 490,000 jobs more than now.
Number of jobs added since the end of December, 2003: 1,982,000.
Average number of jobs per month needed to be added in November and December to meet the "2.2 million jobs added this year" prediction that had milk coming out everyone's nose a while back: 109,000.
None of these numbers factor in the 236,000 upward correction mentioned last month, and that won't be added in until February.
