ok, good post, thanks

the auditory hallucinations you describe must be very upsetting. I sometimes use melatonin for sleep but have no problems .. the brand isBioglan and there are no bad side effects.

I'm glad to see that you accept the basic science, but that wasn't the impression I was getting down in the thread below from you and others. I wanted to make sure that people were differentiating between the science, and the conspiracy theories. You've made that clear, so your last paragraph is a good statement of the situation:

Now when someone claims to be having voices in their head, am I to believe that the government is responsible? Or should I assume that it is just their own brain? Or should I assume that the government is making me hear a knock on my door only when i sleep at high altitude?

Now that IS Occam's razor properly applied .. well said. Nonetheless, I do wonder about the 'audio spotlight'. Couldn't its focussing capacities be used for nefarious or surreptitious purposes. I'm sure that's NOT happening .. but it's possible in principle, no?

I was actually disappointed in the MIT Media Lab boss's presentation .. the Media Lab had a great reputation for serious envelope-pushing audio research, and here they were coming up with what is essentially a silly gimmick. .. ah, these desperate days ..

Anyway, thanks for taking me seriously .. i'm waiting on the results of 2 interstate scholarship applications, so probably am on edge till mid or late December ..
