As for melatonin I wont ever try it again... The auditory hallucinations wer FAR too disturbing- there was also one visual hallucination that had me get out of bed and run to attack a nonexistant intruder..... I was told by a doctor that this was a reaction in some people and might be alleviated by a lower dosage- I just decided not to use it... it never happened again after I quit using it - the hallucinations at altitude are never that bad- its just that i start to drift off and hear a knock on a door or a phone ring... in the end I end up not getting much sleep.
One example, I once spent 14 hours on the summit and went back down to sleep at 10,000 feet... I fell asleep around 6 am... I 'heard' my alarm go off and I slapped it to turm it off- I looked at it and saw it was 8:00 I panicked since I was supposed to be at the summit by 6 pm at the latest- I was half dressed before I realized that it was 8 AM not pm... altitude really can screw you up...
I am physically ill for a few days if I spend 3 days living up there.
Anyway, the lunatic that advocated that conspiracy nonsense clearly had no idea of the physics involved- He just tried to use his lame 'credentials' to advocate his garbage and could only cut and paste lame websites full of lies. THAT is what upset me.
