Ever notice...

Most those that detest the legalization of drugs also heap scorn on those that want to make cigarrettes more expensive? Notice how few want prohibition of alcohol back? They argue that drugs have costs to society, yet cigarrettes cost us more than all other drugs when it comes to harm done to people...

Shall we make them illegal?

What exactly is it that makes cigs ok and pot an evil? Even if you smoke filtered cigs, you get more poisons than is you smoke the occasional joint, and it is a fact that pot is NOT physically addictive like tobacco is....

yet some here attack even the idea of using pot to treat people in legitimate pain.... It has been shown that people in severe pain dont get hooked on opiates if they really need the pain relief.... why should cannabis be different?

those of you that want pot to be illegal need to stop scoffing at the health nazis and join them in advocating banning of cigarettes- otherwise you are hypocrates- cigarettes cost society FAR more than pot...

We have 2 addictive drugs you can buy over the counter, yet other drugs are grounds to destroy a life if you are caught in possession of them.

At least that is changing in some areas - recently here in Hawaii a couple got 30,000$ from the state because police raided their home amd took their pot plants- thing is they both had legitimate uses for the weed and Hawaii allows for medical marijuana- both has severe disease that were likely terminal.... do you really think they were a threat to society? The jury sure didnt...

So until I see you railing against cigs and alcohol and demanding their prohibition then when you whine about other drugs you are just a joke....

(BTW It has been MANY years since I have touched an illegal drug, and the only one I touched was pot- I dont have anything to lose admitting this since I had to admit it to the government when applying for security clearance)

We learned (?) that prohibition of drugs that make people feel good leads to crime with the prohibition of alcohol- yet we do the same thing with other chemicals and repeat the mistakes... If you legalized coke it would result in some deaths, I would never touch the stuff- but at least you wouldnt have so many killing and stealing to buy it.... and treatment for addiction to it would be possible....

My feeling is people should be allowed to put any poison they want into their body- if they hurt society by doing so they should pay for it, but if the the only harm they cause is the cost of incarcerating those that possess the drug then it is kinda a case of us shooting ourselves in the foot.

The FACT is our legal over the counter drugs kill and cost far more than these 'forbidden' drugs. The crime that results from these illegal drugs is largely due to its illegality....

Legalizing drugs isnt some evil thin if it is done rationally....AND again, you cannot protest drug legalization and laugh at those wanting to ban all smoking....

pick your side- just be consistent...
