Several. "Freedom" a political spin more than a human reality?

"Freedom", for human beings, seems to be a completely subjective term, with no firm meaning. "Freedom" at this level may be a political concept with more spin than meaning.

And there are similarities in other areas.

In the US many are proud of the concept of "private property". Ultimately, the State owns about everything. We rent our houses from the State, have to pay taxes to drive our cars on the streets. That's without even considering "eminent domain".

And if we don't pay taxes, much of the rest of what we own will be confiscated.

"Private property"? Don't know.

"Freedom"? Only if one goes along with the State. The saving grace is that if one grows up within a system, one wants to go along with it. Usually.

To many in the US "freedom" for Iraqis means living under the boot of the Bush Administration.

To many in Iraq, "freedom" means not having a foreign army occupying their country and controlling their resources.

So, what is "freedom"?
