All you want to hear is what affirms your beliefs (thus the Blogs), and you label (and liabel) all those who point out anything else as traitors. Ed, for the odious, divisive, small minded, ignorant, uneducated hate monger that he is, is at least honest about it.

What you are doing is 'innoculating' your political ideology. You are laying this groundwork: as this war fails (or that failure becomes manifest), as it is exposed for what it is (folly), you will lay the blame at the feet of those who told you it was folly from the beginning. In your mindless inane shilling for 'the cause', you have already identified the scape goats. You will see no wrong, no disaster brought upon us by your decisions- you will only see traitors and scape goats pulling down the righteous.

Many of us, many americans warned that this war was needless, pointless, a waste of our lives and treasure, and would land us in an untenable situation, Many of us pointed the logicla impossibility of the aims, or the comnplete falsity of the justification, or the complete hypocrisy of convinent, arbitrary and shifting causes of this conflict.

Don't lay this at Dons feet. The blame is your own. Of course, you will paint this post as saddam loving traitor rallying and throw in a few references to trite blog or two to make the appeal to insult less blatant. Ed will label it the same way- the only difference is he won't employ meaningles citations or the niceties of rheotirc, he'll just slather on the hateful insult.

I desperately don't want this war to go where its going- I fought against this war in every way I know how. But the insane ideological hacks that are driving us against the rocks are still running the boat. All the opposition can do is point out over and over that the rocks are dead ahead- in fact we are already being bashed against them. This does not make us glee ridden that this is the case. We will sink with the boat right beside you. The difference is that we are already bailing while you are singing the praise of the captain. Our pointing out the ongoing failure and intractability of this conflict does not make us responsible for your ideological failings of rational process. Grow up. Listen. Open your eyes.
