Almost eloquent

Yes. I find it disgusting that Tom and Ed blame George Bush's despicable failure on the very people who warned against it in the first place.

The lesson was already staring right at us in Gaza and the West Bank. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has persisted in its present form for almost forty years with no end in sight. Why would anyone in their right mind believe we could invade a country of 22 million people with only 130,000 troops not repeat the experience tenfold?!?

We are going to be in Iraq for at least a decade spending hundreds of billions of doallars and watching thousands of our young men and women die at the hands of a recalcitrant insurgency that has the support of a sizeable proportion of country's population. We could have, instead been spending a few million enforcing sanctions that were, for all intents and purposes working as intended - with not a single American soldier in harm's way!

George Bush sent this nation on a fool's erand and we are going to be paying the awful price for a very long time. Idiots like Tom and Ed are so obsessed with reverse-justifying this act of terrorism that has left over 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians dead, they won't believe the whole thing is failing before our very eyes. Its people like them that are ruining this country and everything it once stood for.
