The Danger of such news happening during a holiday
Other than seeing it on the Internet, where I get most of my news anyway, I doubt many people are aware of this latest impact threat due to being slightly busy over the upcoming holidays. If aliens were to take over Earth by using cosmic bombardments, they would probably wait until a major human holiday when most people are focused on getting that latest iPod to attack and take us totally by surprise.
And needless to say, the Universe does not care what holidays the tiny human species is celebrating to activate a natural impact on Earth.
