Okay, a very BIG grenade.
I personally would back away from building my own solid propellant rocket at the point where I had to mix and handle the propellants. Out here there's a solid rocket motor facility in the Coyote Valley where you can see little solid concrete bunkers situated far, far away from everything else, containing what looks like nothing more than a gigantic mixer and bowl. There have been accidents.
