It does not take marvelous insight to predict that the insurgents are going to pull out all the stops before and during the elections, hoping to derail or postpone them. Even the latter would be considered a major victory by the insurgency. Every military source over the past few months has said as much.
It also doesn't take marvelous insight to predict that those in America and elsewhere who would give their right arm to see the war in Iraq fail will be spending the next month wailing and rending their garments about how it's all collapsing, that freedom doesn't stand a chance, and that if the election is held, it won't mean anything anyway.
As far as the media goes, you haven't seen anything yet.
I will continue to try to post information from other viewpoints.
The Left fears a successful election almost as much as the insurgents do, if for different reasons.
I don't think a lot of people understand how much they have invested in losing the war in Iraq.
Current Events » in reply to The problem is simple: The frequency and intensity of terrorist attacks does not seem to be diminishing, or at least diminishing fast enough, to permit the transfer of security to Iraqi forces.
Of course they're not diminishing.
