Turning laser pointers into beacons
How about we get all these laser pointers together and focus them as one big beam to aim at selected stars to conduct Active Optical SETI?
Of course then we'll get a complaint from those distant civilizations that we caused them eye injury and now they must destroy us in revenge.
We just can't win....
