It is an amazing perspective to compare the leftist world of '1984' to the free society of the US. Even under the severe restrictions of WWII, America was more free by orders of magnitude than the world of Orwell's critique of the USSR. And the incredibly mild restrictions used in this war are as nothing compared to those of WWII. In fact the claim that America is becoming a '1984' style society are amazing enough to suggest that the person parotting such a comparison may be able to read words yet still be illiterate.
But now we are swerving far off the topic of this particular board, and into the topic of infantile lefty reactionary paranoia.
Let us focus instead on the wonders of the vast frontier above us.
