Pure speculation:
If this moon was originally debris as the result of collision, could the linear feature be a relect of that original planetoid? A major contact between lithologies, a fault, perhaps, or a large igneous dike. If this material was similar to our mantle in the original planetoid, then there may be structures within mantles that we've never observed before.
