You can't legally buy fully automatic weapons, but most can be easily converted. Parts and instructions are easily available from shooter's websites (wink, wink). Hint: File the sear.

Meaningful gun control legislation is consistently resisted by the gun lobby. When any is passed, consistent enforcement is resisted. Even policies formerly supported by the NRA are now suddenly opposed. Anything that will reduce the number of weapons sold (a reduction in gun industry profit) is opposed. In science, that's called "a positive correlation".

TB, the only reason you are opposed to reasonable gun laws is because liberals are for them. You can't stand to admit they might be right about something. Anything. It threatens your detailed world view, your sense of excruciating infallibility, the instinctive righteousness of your side and the self evident corruption and depravity of your ideological enemies.
