The neocon mantra that the violence is increasing before some event and that it's a desperate attempt gets old.
As does the claim after the event that the insurgency has been broken.
It's a war, it couldn't operate without at least the tacit support of the vast majority of the population, it's not about restoring Saddam, and it is about power - as is Bush over there.
