She's not fond of airplanes like I am and hasn't even ridden in ours despite my urging. Still, she asked me to look into buying a hangar as an investment property (yeah, that's the ticket!). I did some checking today and found one for sale at the local airport. A 46 foot wide by 37 foot deep hangar (insulated and heated, with electricity) is for sale at $58,000. Gulp! That's 2/3rds more than I paid for the plane. It's going to be a tough sell. The Cherokee isn't very big, so it might be possible to rent out half of the hangar to a homebuilt or a high wing Cessna.
Something tells me this isn't going to happen. Gotta dream, though. It seems hangars are a good investment. Not too many years ago, a similar hangar would've cost half that much.
Gotta love my wife...
