I've dashed off a letter to Leonard David. The "Journal of the British Interplanetary Society" is not a serious peer-reviewed scientific journal and Bernard Haisch is a crackpot long associated with so-called "free energy" schemes. Contrary to Mr. Haisch's claims "our best modern physics and astrophysics theories" do not "predict that we should be experiencing extraterrestrial visitation." Its unfortunate that a professional science writer allowed himelf to be taken in by this junk. Where's Jim Oberg when we need him?
