ok then.

What, specifically, do you think should set off my BS meter. I may well be beyond your ability to "help" me, whatever THAT means.

Here's what I see...

Staff Scientist Lockheed Martin, Solar and Astrophysics Laboratory, Palo Alto (1979-1999)

Scientific Editor The Astrophysical Journal (1993-2002)

Deputy Director Center for EUV Astrophysics, Univ. Calif., Berkeley (1992-1994)

etc...

I've read his work. I know how many theoretical physicists view it. It's not rigorously "defended" but maybe it can be. I don't know and neither do you. If you'd like to mount a rigorous objection, I'll read it. As for me, I think he's earned the right to speculate. As an editor for ApJ (yea, that one) he knows very damn well that JBIS is a step or two above Analog.

The guy runs around claiming that our energy future may depend upon our ability to mine zero-point energy. His so-called "Institute" doesn't really do anything. He's been a fan of UFOs for a long time. And he believes that crop circles are the works of alien visitors.

There are physicists who've contributed to the framework of physical knowledge that believe that the invisible man in the sky knocked up a virgin so we could have a human-god hybrid to worship. Big deal. Some wear eccentricity like a badge of honor, regardless of weather you think it's fasionable or not.
